I AM A CHANGEMAKER

Our Goal:

 We believe that children, no matter what age, should learn what it means to be an antiracist.  Teaching history through an antiracist lens does exactly that. Every student should understand the role of white supremacy and racism in history, and they should be taught in a way that empowers them to pursue social justice. We dug deep into the role education plays in social change, and have always been inspired to work with young children because they are the changemakers of tomorrow.

Meet Our Team

Tammy Abrahem
Founder/ Director

I have been an educator for 8 years.  I have been a humanitarian for as long as I can remember. Prior to education, I worked in Egypt with displaced refugees from the Iraq war; they were seeking asylum in the United States. The irony was as I translated interview after interview, hearing the stories of refugees, here I was putting pen to the paper of an application that would grant them into the US; the very same country that had made them refugees. That is when I realized a cycle was occurring, and I was apart of that system.  The same can be applied towards education, it is a system that we all subscribe to and participate in.  Now how we choose to participate in this cycle comes down to how we shape the young minds of tomorrow.  Social justice comes in so many forms, perhaps the most important is through education.
